The works on paper are used as an arena to explore and experiment. I love the freedom that this enables and find that often this generates interesting and exciting results.

For this piece, I was fascinated by the idea of a continuous brushstroke to exemplify time and movement and to convey a sense of the energy and pressure of the stroke. The intention is to express the essence of the sea meeting the rock and sand in the most simplest of visual elements.
